The last stop before great album Ironbound. It's a summary of everything they recorded since Necroshine. The gusher of fire, explosion of fantastic thrashing music with old and new or newer ideas.
The rank of highlights is audible here. I think many songs from this album will forever be immortal. The best tune is undoubtedly "Overkill V...The Brand". Full of excellent, stunning melodies, moments and lyrics. It's a continuation of a saga about Overkill.
Full album is with plenty of admirable moments. It's almost 50 minutes of solid, wonderful thrash metal adventure. The big bat was going stronger and growing to crush everything. It's decently improved version of ReliXIV. It has own soul and heart, claws and teeth. It's a bitting snake full of poison.
Rapid metal ride full of rumbling guitars, shooting drums and clanking bassguitar. Bobby sings variously. He sings and screams occasionally. Album contains lyrics full of stories created by their fantasy. Choruses and vocal melodies are a wonderful ornament.
I think they were on a good way to such excellent albums like Ironbound or Electric age. In new millennium this is one of their best albums. It's their characteristic, typical style of thrash metal. Inimitable metal spirit, energy and juggernaut. Overkill is always great, doesn't matter if the song is slow or fast.
It's about musical attraction and magic. And about original style. Overkill goes, rides and walks by their own way.
Album is miscellaneous. With a different tempos. Immortalis is an immortal dose of Overkill and shining star in heavy metal constellation. And in their discography too.
