Overkill-I hear black(my review)

Do I hear black? What do I hear? Mainly I hear Overkill.
Not very this Overkill but some elements are here. The first element is Bobby who sings through the rolling melodies. And others elements are DD bassguitar, some riffs and awesome atmosphere.
Lyrics are changed to simplicity. This album is alone, independent. And it's interesting that also this style is for Overkill favourable and attractive. This album is fresh for me. I like it. Overkill showed how good it could be. Here are the sharp riffs like "Spiritual void" also Bobby screams here to and fro. The black age was crushing a thrash metal scene and Overkill was breaking the bones and skulls.
I hear black sounds awesome today also. The album has a new elements which Overkill used for others albums.
"I hear black" addressed me for an attractive atmosphere. It's not Horrorscope but it's pretty good pleasure for me and some people. I don't see some weakness. It's a change but Here is everything.
Bobby's voice, pumping drums, good guitars and DD bassguitar.
"I hear black" should be in attention for every fan. Because Overkill showed they are universal and in all ways possible.
Every song makes me happy. My personally favorite are "Dreaming in Columbian", "I hear black", "Spiritual void", "Feed my head", "Shades of grey".
I admires Bobby's lyrics on the album. He makes "I hear black" more interesting.
Overkill in black.

"I hear black, it has no mercy. Repeatin in my head."

Overkill-Horrorscope(my review)

The years of decay was very awesome. But Overkill didn't drain off the ideas or power. Just in Horrorscope they showed how they're unstoppable. What they recorded on Horrorscope is well done work. I think they needed to make the powerful album again like the years of decay.
On horrorscope are very fascinating, admirable ideas. But what is very sad, Bobby Gustafson is gone from Overkill. And Overkill was without a very talented guitarist and composer.

I don't say those guitarists on Horrorscope are not good. But???
Overkill made the best also without Gustafson.
This album contains the elements of Overkill style in the hellish madness. Horrorscope is a great introduction that here is no mercy, no weakness and no peace.

Horrorscope starts with a gloomy intro in the "Coma" which is strike to the face. "Infectious" about war like disease. Very awesome vocals, melody, refrain.
Bobby sings very aggressive in the "Blood money". Here is the killing action by all members. "Thanx for nothing" has a pretty good tempo, riffs, refrains, vocals, bass, solo. "Bare bones" continues in in the great style. Intro is the one of the best by overkill. It's mysterious, haunting.
And here is "Horrorscope" with dark bass intro like in "Who tends the fire". The song is with a rolling melody. And very truthful lyrics and of course the unique Bobby's voice.
I personally love the video to this song.
"New machine" is another rolling song, good bass, vocals, refrain, lyrics.
New machine is a cup of hell.
"Frankenstein" is an instrumental rest.
"Live young, die free" seems to be like a born element for The years of decay which should be there but he is here on Horrorscope.
The song is with a very sharp riffs, vocals.
"Nice day for a funeral" is the last hard song. Awesome the end of song.
"Soulitude" is after song The years of decay another great slower song with mainly nice guitar solos and atmosphere.
Horrorscope is a total top with The years of decay album which Overkill will maybe overcome. Maybe.

Probably the closest are to Horrorscope Ironbound, The electric age, White devil armory and The grinding wheel.

Overkill-Feel the fire (my review)

Overkill as the band was born. They started to record their first album. The first flame in their fireplace "Feel the fire" was setting on fire.
There were the albums which were great and successful. Overkill added for thrash metal world the first album in 1985.
And it was a wild and successful age. Their the first art work is full of unique ideas. Overkill is the band which has the best debut album between other big bands(Slayer, Anthrax, Metallica, Exodus).
They did record the album which was with any new ideas for thrash metal. They were composing the songs which showed the new perspective.
Overkill connected the sensual with useful. And Overkill showed that they are skilled like other bands.

The sound is unique because then they changed it.
Guitars are not sharp but sounds majestic and plays very great melodies.
Bassguitar is not clattering but has a good audible sound.
Bobby sounds very young, wild, with energy. He was good enough. Sometimes he also can scream(Rotten to the core, feel the fire).
The album is full of a very great atmosphere like in the "There's no tomorrow, Kill at command" Lyrics are about war, demons, devil, hell, death or some stories.
In my opinion the best songs are-Rotten to the core, Raise the dead, Hammerhead, Feel the fire, Kill at command and Overkill I.

The song Overkill I. is the first about the band.
This album is also with awesome solos. The best is in "Kill at command". This guitar solo is very capricious.
Here on this album was born one of the best thrash metal band.

Feel the fire!
Fire of desire!

Overkill-Taking over(my review)

Overkill was only on the way to the top. They were finding themselves where there were their roots. It was very important. Impulse was to play hard and fast.
But Bobby wasn't singing sharp. He sang brisk and very clean. He didn't scream like a razor yet. But was a very loud siren that breaking the walls.
Overkill created heavy, great melodies with clean vocals. They were unique in that. The sound is tasteful, especially the guitars has a very attractive sound. Lyrics are in the style for Overkill typical but not very. Majestic and admirable performance for this second album.
But Overkill didn't reach the top fully.

The first song is "Deny the cross" which is a very important part of the album. That melody is unique. Bobby sings and then screams in refrain. Bobby makes also a great atmosphere in the song.
"Wrecking crew" is an Overkill's anthem with really awesome, unique refrain.
"Fear his name" and "Use your head" makes another step to the best way. "Fatal if swallowed" has a very catchy melody and refrain.
And the way to the best is "Powersurge" with fast riffs, vocal like a siren, crushing refrain, solo. One of the heaviest songs on album.
"In union we stand" is like Overkill's another anthem. Great song and refrains.
And the best is here. "Electro violence" is the hardest, fastest on album. Wild, angry, merciless, unstoppable violent tempo, solo, vocal. The hell in the album.
Album ends with a mysterious song "Overkill II". The intro is a similar to "Who tends the fire". Catchy melodies, vocals, refrains. Bobby makes a very capricious atmosphere with his singing. The end of "Overkill II" is similar to the beginning of "Overkill III". Overkill created a good end of the album.

Overkill-Under the influence(my review)

The third album is a perfect connection of albums Feel the fire and Taking over. Under the influence is heavier than those two albums and softer than The years of decay. It's a good way to a gold direction. Bobby combines the clean singing with a screamings and his typical style here. The sound is made successful enough. Album cover is absolute my favorite. This work has a very great atmosphere and is an jewel in the Overkill discography like the years of decay.
Album starts with fast song "Shred" that is very great beginning.
"Never say never" is with very awesome intro and technical melodies. "Hello from the gutter" is very known song. Almost played at every concert. Refrain is one of the best. Very successful solo. "Mad gone world" uncompromising song with screaming refrain. "Brainfade" brisk and wild is comparison for this song with cutting riffs, vocals. Impressive refrain, solo.
"Drunken wisdom" the most beautiful acoustic intro which Overkill created.
Interesting lyrics, melody, vocals. The end of the song is very good, nice.
"The end of the line" rolling intro, great refrains. The middle of song is very majestic instrumental part with very beautiful solos.
"Head first" song where DD Verni's bass sounds awesome. And audible. Very impulsive vocals. The unstoppable sharp solo.
"Overkill III" starts with mysterious intro that makes capricious atmosphere. Rolling melody with a tasteful vocals. Very truthful refrain. Pulling solo. The end is also with a mysterious guitar melody which Overkill never created again.
